3 Ideas for Presenting your Present

presenting-presentEven small, inexpensive gifts can convey your thoughtfulness when wrapped with flair, while handing off an expensive present in a plastic shopping bag might give the wrong message, however much it cost! Packaging has an impact on how your gift is received, so take the time and effort to make it good.

  1. Keep a box filled with wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, tags and tape with your holiday decorations. Include a stash of pretty gift bags and colored tissue paper for when you’re in a hurry.
  2. Don’t be afraid to get creative! If you know your husband is a sucker for strawberry ice cream, wash out the next carton he polishes off and use it to house the new watch you bought him – he’ll appreciate both your humor and attention to his likes. For an avid hiker, give a rustic look to a package with brown paper, green raffia ribbon, and a “bow” made of leaves. Or let the package itself be a gift – a colorful bag, attractive box or tote make practical “wrappers” they can use!
  3. Including a hand-written note doesn’t take long, and it means a lot. Whether you use a small gift tag or elegant stationary, take the time to add a few words letting the recipient know how much you care.

No matter how large or small the gift, clever packaging will make it stand out, whether it’s under the tree or tucked in a stocking. With just a little time and effort, your friends and family will enjoy looking at your gifts as much as they will opening them (almost)!
