The Solutions Team lends a hand in the community

Solutions team members are active year-round in community service. This month, a group of our associates chopped, yanked and swore at invasive English Ivy in a section of the Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Center in Beaverton.

It may look pretty and green, but Enlish Ivy has become a major invasive villain in the Pacific Northwest, as well as all along the Eastern seaboard. Once it gets a foothold, the entwining vines form a dense, climbing groundcover, unsuitable for wildlife habitat and downright unhealthy to shrubs and trees. Hopefully, the plants around the Recreation Center will be able to “breathe” a little easier now!
