Here’s just one of our staffers stories:
“Everyone in my family enjoys my father’s cooking – including my boxer, Butch. When Dad is at the stove, Butch is right there at his knee, and nothing – but nothing – is going to move him from that spot! We’ve made a game of trying to distract him – calling him, whistling, waving toys – but he keeps his eyes firmly fixed on the chef. Maybe if Dad didn’t keep slipping him bits of chicken (Butch’s favorite), he wouldn’t be quite so spoiled!”

On my thirteenth birthday, my parents gave me a dachshund/terrier mix that we named Cleo. Cleo was the sweetest dog in the world, but she wasn’t very bright! Her favorite toy was a rock – she’d pick up a rock out of the garden, lie on her stomach and hold it between her forepaws, and gnaw on it for hours. She also loved chasing running water from the hose – if someone was washing the car or using the hose for something else, she’d chase the water, barking nonstop and trying to bite it, swallowing and choking on it at times but never stopping. She’d even chase raindrops!
When I was a kid, a stray dog showed up at my mom’s work. She brought him home and we all decided to keep him and named him Mike. He had the strangest habit… Anytime one of us would stand on a stool or chair to reach something (change a light, cupboard above fridge, etc), he’d bark like crazy until you got down. He did that every time for as long as he lived and to this day have no idea why.
The picture of the white dog in the car is a picture of my Barnie TU. Only a mine is a little smaller. He is a MaltiChon. I have had him for only 2 months. He is a rescue dog. He is to replace my first Barnie, which I had to have euthanized because of poor health and was bigger than my Barnie TU
We travel all over with our cat and our dog. Both have traveled since they were little. Each has their own spot in each vehicle where they can look out the window and see what we pass. We pack picnics and stop at rest areas for all of us to get a break. The cat has gotten so that our vehicles are her “safe havens” when something outside scares her even at home, she has to be beside one of them for protection
