Surviving Breast Cancer | Lynn’s Story

Finding a cure for breast cancer is personal to us at Solutions.

Like many workplaces throughout the country, Solutions counts several breast cancer survivors on our close-knit team. Two years ago when Lynn was told she had breast cancer, she was both shocked and devastated. Today, after finishing her treatment on June 1, 2006, Lynn is virtually back to her old self (including a full head of hair!). She smiles often and is quick to laugh. Asked how she can be so positive, Lynn says “I am doing what I can to be healthy, live longer and enjoy life.” She adds, “There are so many women out there who had it worse than me and they’re healthy again. There’s no reason to think that I won’t be here to enjoy grandchildren.”

While she had “down” moments over the last two years, Lynn wants to share with other women what she learned since getting over the initial shock.

“It’s important to hear success stories so you know breast cancer is not a death sentence. When my doctor told me I would come through the treatment fine, she was right.” Lynn adds, “The new research and medications are very promising. And, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is such a wonderful resource and help in both support and research.”

Our hope is that all men and women will someday be free from the worry of breast cancer. To help reach that goal, Solutions is proud to present “Shop for a Cause“. Not only does this special selection of items help promote breast cancer awareness—part of the proceeds are donated toward finding a cure, too!
