Sugar Cookies

When baked, these cookies will hold their shape—ideal for use with cookie cutters.
Ingredients:
1½ cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. almond extract (optional)
2½ cups flour
Directions:
Mix together sugar, butter, egg and extracts. Stir in flour. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours until dough is firm.
Liberally flour pastry board and dough when rolling out to desired thickness. Cut out dough with cookie cutters and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake cookies at 375 degrees about 10 minutes, until lightly golden brown around the edges. Cool on a rack.
